•02/08/2008 A couple of weeks back I had the priviledge of appearing as a guest of the Phoenix Cactus Comicon at Mesa Convention Center in Phoenix, AZ. I apologize for the delay for thep post. The show was once again a very memorable one as the folks who attended embraced STYKMAN™ with loving arms. In fact, I was so busy I was unable to wonder around the show and take photos. Fortunately some of you were kind enough to provide some for the site. A great big THANK YOU goes out to Zeke Navarro, Eric Esquivel, Michael Jung and Aaron Keel. A special thanks to Aaron for retrieving a few autographs from Ed Mcguiness for me. That's right, I'm a fanboy too.

With all of the creative, incredibly talented people at the show, we are truly grateful for the many wonderful compliments we received while at the show from some of our newly acquired fans. Here are just a couple of examples:

Prior to the convention, I was contacted by the staff asking me to contribute something about writing comedy for their BLOG. As most of you know, I am currently writting a column for WIZARD Magazine. I also was given the distinct pleasue of appearing on a panel of Self Publishing with Dave Beaty and Lin Workman (Bushi Tales). We had quite the turn out. Although I wish we were alotted more time (Something we will have next year) the information discussed was, we hope, very useful. Truth be told, the best information was discussed for over two hours just outside the hall where folks stuck around afterward asking questions. An incredible time. I learned quite a bit, myself.

There we some wonderful guests at the show including: Will Wheaton (Spent an hour talking. Great guy.), Jeph Loeb, Ed McGuiness, David Finch, Brian Pulido (Lady Death), Noel Neil (Original Lois Lane), Mike Bullocks (Lions, Tigers, and Bears), Matt Wagner, Christian Beranek (Dracula Vs King Arthur), Raven Greggory (The Gift), Dave & Micah Beaty (Bushi Tales), Lin Workman (Bushi Tales), Eric Esquivel, Enrique Robledo, Tony Parker, Ben Glendemming, and many, many more. It was an honor and real pleasure spending time with all of them.

Last, but not least, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Matt Solberg, Joe Boudrie, Jeff Nieman, Krystel Theroux and crew for all of their hard work to bring this convention to life. The volunteer staff was amazing as well. Out of all of the shows we attended last year (9 of them) this was by far the most organized of them all. We're looking forward to what you folks have in store for us next year.

Thanks again, Phoenix. It was a real blast. We will be back next year. Count on it!!!
