•While at the convention, we made some new friends from some colleagues in the business. To our right were a couple of rather hysterical guys Chris Peel & Tom Martin from Half Ass Publishing and their fun comic called SOME BIG LUMBERJACK. If you find the fact that STYKMAN™ rides around on a Big Wheel-like vehicle fun, you'll find the idea of SBL riding around on a beaver just as zany. The books are filled with numerous Pop-Culture references and puns. You can check them out @ www.some-big-lumberjack.com

To our left was Robert Luedke promoting his Graphic Novel EYE WITNESS. What a great guy Robert is. We had some really wonderful discussions over the course of the weekend.
I first saw this book in 2004 in San Diego and was very impressed by it then. It depicts and eye witness account of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ with a bit of a modern twist. Definitely worth a look, I really enjoyed it. You can find Robert & his book @ www.headpress.info

•Another group of guys I really enjoyed meeting were from ACROSS THE POND. These guys publish several different books under the coveted "I" logo of IMAGE. There books can befound @ www.acrossthepondstudios.com

Benjamin Ilka was there promoting his book A BOY AND HIS SHADOW. You may remember Ben from the news posted in October about our Tucson Signing trip. you can find Ben @ www.madseadog.com

Had a chance to meet the cretor of THE GIFT, Raven Gregory. This guy personifies the word cool. The comic is an intersting and beautiful take on the world of immortals. Plus the fact that it is branded with the coveted "I" of Image comics doesn't hurt.

•The Colorado state Champ of HEROCLIX (I believe his name was Chris) stopped by the table. What a sweet, even-keeled kid. I still have no clue how to play the game. The guys from WIZKIDS even attempted to explain. Sad to say, I was lost.
Apparently Colorado's finest wasnt as prepared for Texas as he thought but said he'll be ready next year. better get ready Arlington.

•Alfredo Lopez Jr stopped by to take a peek at STYKMAN™ and pick up a copy of issue# 1. Come to find out he's a fan of the book. What a nice, soft spoken guy he is and an amazingly talented artist to boot. The digital paintings he's done are stunning. You really need to check his work out @ www.lopezstudios.com

•Another gentleman who stopped by the booth was Michael Williams. Unfortunately I did not grab a photo of the two of us (But you can see a taste of his art by
CLICKING HERE .). Mike is the east coast, negative version of myself. We had some great laughs and I'm sure we'll continue the good times at conventions to come. You can view more of Mike's work @ www.ronin-studios.com

•Unfortunately there was yet another missed photo op with yet another great individual. Good 'ol Charlie brown stopped by to say hello. Charlie is a writer for 803 studios. you can view his work @ www.803studios.net

That about wraps it up. there were so many others I had a chance to chat with but did not have the camera on hand. I'll be sure to strap one around my neck, or hire out for future cons.

Next up on the list of conventions is WONDERCON,
San Franciso in February. C-ya there.

For a list of conventions
we will be attending in 2006.
