Issues 4 and 5 Delayed!!!

We regret to inform everyone that the individual issues of #’s 4 and 5 of The Miscellaneous Adventures of STYKMAN™ have been cancelled at the distributor level. Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc. has stated they will not be re-listing them. Ironically, the Trade Paper Back (TPB) collecting issues 1-5 will be listed in the March edition of PREVIEWS. Here is what happened: Although we did our best to communicate to retailers, fans, and our Diamond representative the events that caused the delay in the shipping of issue 4 –– a practice as you know not often deployed in this industry –– Diamond apparently felt too much time had elapsed between solicitation and order fulfillment (A little over a month and a half) and cancelled the orders. Unfortunately we were not informed of the cancellation until we submitted the solicitation for our TPB at which time we were notified by email correspondence. However, the order for issue 5 was still in place. It is Diamond’s practice to not release information to publishers regarding orders placed, by whom, and for how many units. Since we would be unable to fill orders for issue 4, it seemed only reasonable to cancel the orders for issue 5. When we inquired about re-listing the issues we were informed by our diamond representative that they would not being doing so, directing us more toward collected editions or TPB’s. Please understand it was not our intention to alienate retailers, news outlets, and most importantly you, our fans, by forcing you to pay the additional cost for the TPB just to continue following a storyline you so thoroughly enjoy. For the time being, we are at the mercy of our distributor. At this time we are gathering information regarding orders placed for the individual issues 4 and 5. I have contacted those retailers I know that carry our title by phone to personally discuss this situation with them and learn how many of each issue they have ordered. Judging by the numbers we are able to accumulate from retailers nationwide and abroad, we will determine whether it is feasible to produce large enough print runs of the individual issues for direct distribution. At the very least we will make available a limited amount of the individual issues through our website. As mentioned above, the TPB collecting the first 5 issues of The Miscellaneous Adventures of STYKMAN™ will be solicited in the March Previews. A subsequent post, email, and press release will be posted at that time. It is important to note that we will continue to produce The Miscellaneous Adventures of STYKMAN™; be it in individual issues or collected Trade volumes. We are currently looking into alternative distribution methods. On behalf of everyone here at a.k.a.
