Tucson, AZ – With art contests
geared towards all ages, cosplay (costume play) for those with a fun
fashion sense and a raffle for UNICEF, 10 comic book creators, Charlie’s
Comics and the Phoenix Comicon are joining forces on Saturday,
December 8 to celebrate comic books and show all what heroes look like.
A full day of activities, including art contests for all ages and skill levels,
creator panels and sketches, are planned for the event, which begins at noon
and runs all day until 7 p.m. In addition, a raffle to benefit the U.S. Fund
for UNICEF will be held, with all money raised used to feed and aid children
in Darfur. Prizes include original art, graphic novels, trade paperbacks, variant
cover comic editions, and more. Charlie’s Comics is located at 5445 E.
22nd Street in Tucson.
“This is a great chance for comic book fans to show off their mad drawing
skills, meet 10 comic book creators and help out a great cause,” says Charlie’s
Comics owner Charlie Harris.
The Phoenix Comicon is Arizona’s signature pop culture convention held
